TTW restless dangerous keepsake

Puppet

we all have
secrets
tucked away

treasure boxes
full of remainders
and reminders

shiny keepsake
illusions of our
own histories

dangerously
tempting us
to look back,

pulling on strings
of restlessness
in our hearts,

remember,
remember,
don’t dance,

close the lid

  1. Phew, close the lid! But when you open it again, it all jumps out, like a can of worms!

  3. Like Pandora's box - given half a chance, these things'll overtake us. :) Good words...

  4. You've nailed it. The past holds lessons, but shouldn't hold angst.

  6. Yes, only when we let go of the past will the past let go of us.

I must admit I was a bit worried we'd have a marionette-gone-Rambo thing going on here, but I was glad to see where you took it instead.
