Here is my piece for 'Rain' 3x3. I have to say that I believe I am pretty much the worst artist ever. I know you have to start somewhere, but when you're FIVE, not 55. I don't guess my paper mosaic squares, umbrella and lace rain drops with sewn drip paths will win any kudoos, (oh let's not forget the stamping...) but it was a few minutes of fun anyway, and isnt' that the point?

Kristy, I like it. Art is art, especially when it comes from the heart. Make sure to stop by my blog tomorrow and link in to the Tuesday 3x3!
ReplyDelete=)
it is an excellent start and you're right the goal is to have fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteStrike that title from your post. There is no such thing as the 'worst artist ever'. You've been an artist all you life, you just never knew it :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is very creative in fact. I couldn't imagine stitching something into such a small area. Good job! I look forward to seeing what you do next week.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for starting anything at 55...I'll be there in 2 weeks and I have a hard time starting and finishing everything! Good job on your rain theme fabric art piece.
ReplyDeletewithout having read your text i thought it was GREAT!! i love the colors and abstractness of it. also the way you've chosen to photograph it is unique and adds to the piece! it reminds me of an art installation.. really cool!
ReplyDeleteCool. Considering its on such a small scale this is really detailed. Think it works best as an abstract piece with a good sense of pattern and shape.
ReplyDeleteI like it, I like the lace raindrops, it's unique, definitely not something I would think of doing
ReplyDeleteHey Kristy !
ReplyDeleteI love your piece ! Very unusual, witty, and original :) I do like the lace rain drops, it gives them a happy, pretty mood , rather than grey and blah, like rain is normally thought of, very nice work my friend, take care,
Julian :)
