New grandma to the fabulous Stella James! Part-time teacher, water person who loves nothing better than the music of water dripping from her kayak paddle into the gulf. Voracious reader of mysteries and other (more serious) books recommended by friends. Getting old is sometimes harder than I'd like, but of course, it beats the alternative!
You know, I really like the ending. It's simple, straight-forward.
ReplyDeleteAnd often tiresome. You said it well.
ReplyDeletehat, turns cold, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteOh, god, I can so relate to this!
ReplyDeleteAHH! LOL! This was so funny because it is so true!! I've been scorned this way many times too! SOSOSO Witty! LOve your post!
ReplyDeleteYes, it does get old. I say say what you mean and mean what you say already. lol
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed.
The sort of cryptic ending is a surprise, so it's successful. Otherwise sad and upsetting--which means successful.
ReplyDelete"from mother-in-law to cat" has me smiling, no idea why that resonates so much. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it does. :) Good post - thoughtful and provocative...
ReplyDeletewhat gets old? the temper? the mother-in-law? Oh, yeah, I get it... it all gets old. Nicely done. I love the rhythm of the words in this one.
ReplyDeleteI agree, say what you mean or don't bother to speak to me. Excellent
ReplyDeleteYep, why can't people just say what they mean and mean what they say! Good job.
